What we run

Practise the round you're actually about to sit.

A recruiter screen, a hiring-manager conversation and a case round are three different games. Practice targets the one that is next in your process.

  • Practice
  • Peer feedback
  • Free question bank
The format

A practice round, not a quiz

You run the round as if it were real, then get told what an interviewer would have scored — while there is still time to change it.

  • Pick the round that is next in your process
  • Questions come from the free question bank, organised by role
  • One person answers, one interviews, the rest score
  • Feedback is against what gets scored, not against style
  • You run the same answer twice — before feedback and after
  • Nothing is recorded
How a round runs

Twenty minutes is enough to fix an answer

  1. 01

    Set the scene

Name the role, the type of company and which round it is. The bar is different for each of them.

  2. 02

    Run it live

Questions from the bank, asked cold. No stopping halfway to explain.

  3. 03

    Score it

Structure, evidence, result — and whether the answer actually answered the question.

  4. 04

    Run it again

Same question, rebuilt answer. This second pass is where the improvement actually happens.

The scoring

What separates a good answer from a long one

Loses points

  • A story with no result at the end
  • “We” everywhere — nobody can hear what you did
  • Answering a different, easier question
  • Five minutes of context before the point

Scores

  • Situation, task, action, result — in that order
  • One number in every story
  • Your own part of the work, named plainly
  • Two minutes, then stop and let them ask
What you leave with

Answers that survive being asked twice

  • Three stories you can tell in any order
  • A recruiter-screen answer that doesn't undersell your salary band
  • The questions your target role actually gets asked
  • A list of what to prepare before the real round
Who it's for

Anyone with a date in the calendar

01

First round next week

Practise the recruiter screen. It is the round most people lose without ever finding out why.

02

Stuck at the final stage

Reaching the hiring manager and going no further is a storytelling problem more often than a skills problem.

03

Out of practice

You haven't interviewed in years, and the format has changed more than you'd expect.

Practice happens between members, not with a professional interviewer. That is also why it works: the people asking are sitting the same rounds you are, this month.
Build the material first

Where the stories come from

Interview answers are CV lines told out loud. Build them there first, and practice becomes rehearsal rather than invention.
